robchronphotography > This happens almost every year in Michigan. We get an early snow towards the end of  fall and then we see nothing until January. This was taken at the end of fall behind our house in the woods. As I take the picture I'm actually standing in another creek running the other way. In the winter, this area turns to ice and looks like a big T. Thats what the neighbor kids call it. They go ice skating back there almost every year.
robchronphotography > This photo was taken a few summers ago down by the creek behind our house. The neighborhood kids had found him wedged in the narrow creek. So i threw on my waiters (why i don't know) and went down to pull him. He is easily a foot and a half by a foot and a half with one inch nails, and as you can see, a big ole' smile. We photographed him and then released him farther back in the creek where the water was deeper and easier for him to navigate
